Good Morning lovelies!!! I am just going to dig right into this post and say that the first thing I do when I wake up is check Instagram! Not emails, not text's, instagram! I like to see what everyone else is up to and see how people start their days. I noticed so many of my favorite bloggers are up and ready for the day, hair and makeup done, well over an hour before I get up! All of them are Mom's so I began chatting about this with one of my friends, Lorena, and we both just said HOW?!?!

Rewind a couple of months... I was staying up a little later watching TV and completely sleeping in until 9 or 9:30am until Maverik woke me up with his usual, "Maaamaaaaa." I can hear him calling me no matter what, Mom powers right! You know what I am talking about if you're a Mom!! My Husband does not have this magical power! Anyhow, I would wake up feeling groggy, more tired and felt that really had to work at motivating myself to start the day - and it would be 11am or 12pm at this point! Then I would see instagram and everyone was up and ready, out and about looking fabulous and would look in the mirror feeling like a soggy banana. I only like bananas when they still have a little bit of green on them so I was not liking this!! Needless to say I felt that our mornings could go a lot better and I knew it all started with me!

I decided that I wanted to try to wake up before Mav and see how that changes our mornings. My husband leaves for work at 7:30am - I wake up off and on while he gets ready so I started getting completely up at 7:30am. I would usually go back to sleep! Now I make the bed, open the blinds, and make a cup of coffee and my 1/2 of a bagel. I don't like watching the local news but I love watching Good Morning America and then Live with Kelly & Ryan. Mav will get up anywhere between 8:30am and 9:30am so that gives me plenty of time to myself to relax and make my 'things I want to accomplish today,' list. I don't call it a to-do list because that isn't as motivating!

I don't get ready (makeup, dressed) until Mav wakes up but this new routine has helped so much! I feel ready to tackle the day and when Mav wakes up I am much more alert which feels good. How this changes in May when the baby is born, I don't know but I am going to try to stick to this!

For all of the Mom's, what is your morning routine? Is there something you do for yourself before the kids get up? Send me your routines!
